We’re bringing the blog back! To kick-start our new series we are introducing one of the latest additions to Tonic, Cubic – a British-based brand focusing on quality materials and original designs for high-street retail pricing. Let’s get ourselves up-to-date and see which trends we are loving for the Autumn/ Winter 2016 seasons:

#1 Bold Prints / Outerwear:

We can’t deny our love for the summer months, the air smells a little fresher and the world seems a little brighter, however the sunny days are few and far between and we love taking advantage of the lazy days that the winter months bring. The layering of textures and tones – and in this case patterns – is intriguing. Creating shapes and strong silhouettes and playing with textures is exactly what Cubic are doing for their Autumn/Winter 2016 Collection. This season it is no longer a faux-par to mix your polka dot coat with floral patterns and paisley prints, it’s being embraced! We will have lots of playful prints to share with you here at Tonic, so keep your eyes peeled!

#2 The A-Line Mini Skirt:

We can all agree that London might be the last place one would think of sporting a mini-skirt – and whilst we’d usually agree, there’s just something a little special about this Double Face Mini Skirt by Cubic. Down to its black buckle detailing to its layered prints, its polka dot pattern and cut bring us right back to the 70’s. This season it’s all about the A-line cut, it’s chic and ready to wear. The possibilities are endless – whether you want to go for something a little more subtle or a little more daring there are many A-line styles out there that you’re bound to fall in love with!

#3 Add A Little Couture To Your Wardrobe With The Ruffles!

Ruffles, ruffles, ruffles! Whether it’s ruffle necks, bell sleeves, a lettuce-edged hem, creating a bold but clean outline… we are out to make a statement with this trend, almost adding a couture touch to your high-street-style. We are definitely about subtle ways to make an average outfit incredible! It adds a dramatic element to any outfit and we cannot wait to see more of this around! Pass me up some ruffle sleeves immediately!

#4 Different Kind Of Denim?

Distressed, frayed hems, cropped wide leg jeans, whatever it is – we are getting experimental with denim this season, so look out for some wonderful styles of denim by Cubic and our other brands at Tonic. These choices are only making our wardrobe burst at the seams, as if it wasn’t already! Jeans are a necessity to the wardrobes of all of us, so why not dare to be a little different this season with some unexpected styles.  With these jeans they can always be dressed up and down for any occasion – with a pair of heels for an evening out with friends or even with a plain white T-shirt tucked in and some casual shoes.

Overall, we’re pretty obsessed with all of these trends right now, and look forward to seeing how people style them into their wardrobe. Don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for regular updates!

Happy New Year everyone! Here at Tonic we are struggling to keep all of our new year resolutions (we have so many!) – but cannot wait to freshen up our wardrobes! With spring around the corner, what better time is there to come up with six nice n’ easy style resolutions for 2016 than by taking notes from Spring/Summer ’16’s gorgeous trends?

Style Resolution #1: Play Up Your Stripe Game

We all know that stripes are a pattern that never goes out of style – this spring however, it’s set to be one of the star prints of the season after popping up in all the major designer shows. What’s different about it this time? Don’t be afraid to go way beyond your classic striped shirt. Slip into the trend with ease with these fabulous Coster Copenhagen trousers.

Style Resolution #2: Don’t Knock off Underwear as Outerwear (It’s easier than it looks)

This naughty but nice trend has been coming and going for the past few seasons only to make a huge comeback this upcoming spring. Forget literal interpretation (as not of us all can aspire to be like the queen of underwear-as-outerwear, Lady Gaga), take inspiration from the catwalk looks and just think of all those times you thought your beautiful night gowns and sleepwear definitely deserved to step out of the bedroom. Our favourites? Sheer detailing, slip-on dresses and super soft silk separates.

Style Resolution #3: Take a Fresh Approach to Romance

This season is so much more than florals and sugar hues, it’s about embracing spring’s full bloom in the softest and freshest of ways. Think floaty dresses with a carefree and easy breezy feel. Designers embraced romance in a chic, girlie albeit elegant way, with gorgeous floral details and lightweight fabrics.

Style Resolution #4: Say Pleats Please

Here at Tonic we are big fans of pleats and were thrilled to see how so many pleated showstoppers dominated the catwalks. A street style favourite, pleats come in all shapes and sizes but Spring/Summer ’16 sees them being small and as breezy as possible – making a super chic and flattering trend. Treat yourself to our beautifully bronzed and pleated Silvian Heach skirt.

Style Resolution #5: Metallics Aren’t Just For a Night Out

Why not inject some glamour into your everyday routine with sparks of metal and silver linings? Designers embraced shiny hues by inundating their collections with playful and even slightly futuristic separates, with silver in particular totally stealing the scene. If it’s all a bit much for you, the simplest way to tackle this shiny trend is with accessories – or go for a subtly chic shade with this pretty Lavand skirt.

Style Resolution #6: Go A Little Colour Mad

Passionate red hues and vibrant citrus shades are set to conquer your Spring & Summer wardrobe – and we say if you can’t beat them, join them! This gorgeous Coster Copenhagen blouse will do just the trick. Spring and summer are all about feeling uplifted and because 2016 has just dawned upon us we believe there’s no better time to throw some bright colours into your life – which has been proven many a time to truly cheer people up. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to look and feel bright!

Happy New Year from the Tonic team! x
